Exploring Electrons: Lemon Battery Experiment

When life gives you lemons… you make a battery! That’s what we call Positive Energy!!!

During STEM Saturday, Tinker 4 students created their own Lemon Battery Experiment in order to prove the science principle of electric currents.

The simple lemon battery has been made with copper nails and thin pieces of wire.

 

The illustration below shows electric current, the movement of electrons from one place to another.

 

 

The lemon battery generated enough voltage to light up the LED and demonstrate the flow of electricity.
