Tinker students engaged in an experimental cup-throwing activity. They used the LittleBits kit to design a throwing arm that will catapult a projectile accurately into a cup tower.

The concept of the lesson was force, distance and mass.

From several trials, they tested and improved the efficiency of their throwing arms, each time recording the results of their attempts.

Students were able to understand that error is an important part of the Engineering process! This is the true definition of tinkering.

Here, students are assembling their throwing arms from the LittleBits kit.

The boys were really excited to knock down the cup tower and even made a competitive game out of the activity.
